A team from the English fund manager visited Wind Park Mangueira-Mirim in Santa Vitoria do Palmar, in RS, and the educational center in Piraquara, in PR

Atlantic’s CEO welcomed, in the company’s office in Curitiba, James Magor, Actis’ Energy Director in Brazil and Responsible Investment Manager, who came to Brazil to have a close look on Atlantic.

James was at Centro Educacional João Paulo II, which gets financial support from the company, to learn about the educational activities offered by the institution, located in Piraquara, in Parana state. He payed the visit last Wednesday (13), and was accompanied by Janaína Assumpção, Human Resources Manager. This educational center is a nonprofit private organization that has been working in Curitiba’s metropolitan region since 2007. Its goal is to provide better education for low-income children.

On Thursday (14), Sérgio Brandão and James Magor travelled to Santa Vitoria do Palmar with Operational Director Miguel Dias and Coordinator Fernando Winter to visit Wind Park Mangueira-Mirim’s (207 MW of power) building site.

“We have several initiatives in development and governance, and James’ coming to Brazil is fundamental for the ongoing consolidation of our code of conduct’s practices. He will take to other companies invested by Actis around the world the best of what he saw here, like the rigor applied to our labor legal obligations, the deep social and environmental impact studies and our daily monitoring of building sites. Such practices place Atlantic in the level of a solid and competitive company”, highlights Brandão.
