With an investment of over 230 million dollars, the company will expand the generation potential of Lagoa do Barro wind farm, operating in Piaui, and will implement new ventures in the municipalities of Tanque Novo and Caetité in Bahia.
The result of the event sets Atlantic in renewable market as a high development level company, with competitive rates that follows wind energy growth in Brazil.
According to Empresa de Pesquisa Energética [Electric Research Company] (EPE), the A-6 auction, entered 1541 projects, which includes hydropower, solar, wind and termal. The energy supply retained at the auction is expected to occur as off January 2025.
The company’s goal is to provide competitive projects that generate benefits for both country and region in which its ventures are located.
“We disputed the A-6 auction with great generators and end up victorious, which gives us motivation to keep our work and the opportunity to better position ourselves in the wind energy market” says José Roberto de Moraes, Atlantic CEO.
In recent years, Atlantic has been dedicated to delivering large projects which generate power from the winds. The expansion of its assets portfolio comes at an excellent time for the company, which recently completed 10 years of life.
