Atlantic sponsors Gladiadores Quad Rugby, a local wheelchair rugby team and one of the most traditional teams of Parana. This action matches the company’s vision of sustainability and aims to expand the visibility of this sport in Brazil and in Curitiba, capital of Parana state, home to Atlantic’s headquarters.
Gladiadores Curitiba Quad Rugby is a project from Saude Esporte Sociedade Esportiva, that in partnership with Titans Quad Rugby team form Parana’s wheelchair rugby teams.
Among the most important achievements of Gladiadores Curitiba Quad Rugby are the trophies of the Brazilian National Championship and the America Cup, in 2013. The team also won Taça Cidade de Curitiba 2015 and got second place in Brazilian National Championship in 2015 and in II Copa Caixa Quad Rugby 2015.
Parana’s wheelchair rugby team was founded in 2010 and currently has 18 para-athletes. In 2012, some members joined Brazil’s Paralympic Team. In Rio 2016 Paralympics, three athletes from Gladiadores Curitiba Quad Rugby represented the Brazilian Team: Rafael Hoffmann, Anderson Kaiss (Tico) e Gilson Wirzma Jr.
